Rachel Chistyakov
My approach to therapy focuses on healing, connection, and emotional insight to allow individuals, couples, and families to reach their goals and improve their lives. We will work together to tailor your treatment so that whatever may be affecting you can be worked through in a safe, comfortable space. We will explore any troubling thoughts, feelings, or patterns that you may be experiencing and we will find ways for you to move forward through this transition in your life. Whether you are struggling with your relationships, your family, work or school, your self-esteem/confidence, or with any other area, our sessions will revolve around what you need and want from therapy.
I ground my work in attachment theory and use it as my orientation when working with adults, children, teenagers, couples, and families. I utilize different treatment modalities, such as CBT, EMDR, and TRM to bring you the best type of treatment for your personalized needs. Some of my specialty areas include grief & loss, PTSD & trauma disorders, depression, and anxiety. With kids, I use non-directive play therapy to help work through the different areas in that they are struggling with.
