COVID-19 Update: This temporary new way of life can be difficult to navigate. I offer online sessions through a confidential video chat so that you can get the help you need in the safety of your home.
Online Therapy & Counseling With a Local Licensed Marriage Family Therapist
I have successfully served the Conejo Valley community for 15 years and offer online therapy to clients all over California, as well as local clients who can benefit from teletherapy due to busy schedules, childcare issues, or those who travel extensively. Teletherapy is convenient, flexible, and safe (specifically during this time). Sessions use strategies backed by researched and evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, the Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy.
Modern couples don’t have to leave home to learn better communication skills, avoid heated arguments, successfully negotiate financial disagreements, or co-parent. With online therapy, we can cover all of this and more.
My empathic and attuned approach translates well online, as it does in person. When working with couples, I start with the Gottman online assessment. This handy tool lends itself well to starting couples work from a place of understanding the strengths and weaknesses of the relationship.
The initial meeting might feel strange, but the couples I work with report that having the flexibility of being in different locations or being in the comfort of their home quickly becomes comfortable and familiar. The stress of coordinating their schedules is gone and they can seamlessly continue discussing topics and feelings brought up in therapy without the disruption of leaving my office.
Individual clients will experience greater self-awareness, learn coping strategies, and feel heard and understood. My approach softness the feeling of aloneness and creates a collaborative solution-focused therapeutic alliance for healing to begin.
Some common issues I help clients with include:
Some people find it more comfortable to open up when they are in a familiar surrounding like their own homes. My clients report they feel less inhibited sharing vulnerable issues online rather than face to face. Another benefit of online therapy is having access to family members you may want to involve in treatment.
I also offer walk-and-talk therapy that has the added benefit of getting some fresh air and exercise while we have a session outside.
Teletherapy appointments are provided through an online platform using confidential face-to-face video conferencing. Contact me for a free 20-minute phone/video consultation to learn more about TeleMentalHealth and see if it’s right for you.
