Do you feel stuck- repeating old patterns that lead to conflict, frustration, and lack of fulfillment? Are you longing for deeper connection in the relationships that matter most to you?  Perhaps you are challenged by persistent, unresolved issues with your partner, making it difficult to maintain that loving bond that you both desire. You are not alone. Together we will work to uncover and understand the patterns that are holding you back, moving you towards a life that is more aligned with your truest self. I help couples, individuals and families build healthy relationships with themselves and with their loved ones so they may thrive.

I work psychodynamically utilizing attachment theory, mindfulness, emotion-focused, CBT, and other modalities, from a systems perspective. My specialties include, depression, anxiety, trauma, relationships, parenting, and divorce. My goal is to provide a safe, nurturing environment where you are free to be your genuine self, which will lead to personal growth and healing.

I have a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, with an emphasis in Marriage and Family therapy, from Phillips Graduate University.  If you think that we may be a good fit, contact me so that we may set up a free 20 minute consultation. You are worthy of a great life. I look forward to connecting with you!”

Rachel Chistyakov, AMFT #108692

I work with adults, teenagers, and children who struggle with PTSD, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and bereavement. I utilize talk therapy, expressive therapy, play therapy, and specific treatments like EMDR and TRM to offer comprehensive care in order to explore problems on a deeper level. I use attachment theory as my therapeutic orientation to help clients better understand how early childhood relationships, as well as current friendships and other significant relationships, can affect all aspects of one’s life and how one may navigate through the world.

I received my Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology with an Emphasis in Marriage & Family Therapy from Pepperdine University, and I am currently enrolled as a doctoral student at Alliant International University and hope to receive my PsyD in 2022. I am currently receiving training for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and am trained in the Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM). I have taken and continue to take various workshops in play therapy techniques and different types of family therapy.

I am accepting new clients and have a wide range of availability during the week. If you would like to have a free 20 minute consultation, feel free to reach out to me at (818)422-7691 or email me at Rachel@marinaedelman.com

You can have a life of abundance, peace, hope and joy and I believe one of the bravest things you can do is to begin to understand your unique story.   In these challenging times, it’s natural to feel overwhelmed and need additional support.  Maybe you’re having challenges with starting a new relationship or in your marriage/partnership, raising kids, trauma, losing a loved one, with school/work, friends, health, self-esteem, or feeling alone or undervalued. You may be feeling stuck and engulfed with sadness, hopelessness, excessive worries or a lack of fulfillment in your social and emotional connections that may lead to confusion, frustration, anxiety or depression.   Whatever your unique experience is, we can work together in a safe, supportive and caring environment to rediscover your strengths, identify obstacles that keep you from having the life you want, and help you find meaning, purpose and authenticity in your life.

I have worked with individuals, couples and families for 8 years, and through connection, healing and emotional awareness I work collaboratively to address your specific needs and goals.  Together we work to uncover unhealthy patterns that may be keeping you from growth, identify feelings, thoughts, beliefs and behaviors that may be creating barriers, and integrate coping skills and practical tools to gain a sense of mastery over your life.   My therapeutic approach is rooted in empathy and positive-regard, utilizing CBT, Humanistic, Solution-Focused and Family Systems as a base yet is tailored to your individual needs.

I have a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology with an Emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Phillips Graduate Institute and hold a Marriage and Family Therapist License.  My therapeutic intention and style, is to provide empathetic support with the utmost respect and compassion; building on strengths and providing guidance for a life with greater inspiration and joy.  I can be reached by email cheryl@marinaedelman.com or phone 818-885-1293 and look forward to helping you achieve your goals and move towards a more fulfilled and gratifying life.
